Sharif University of Technology and Institut Teknologi Bandung Expand Scientific and Research Cooperation

Sharif University of Technology and Indonesia's Bandung Institute of Technology (Institut Teknologi Bandung) have signed a memorandum of understanding to expand scientific, research, and educational cooperation, including the exchange of faculty, researchers, and students, and the implementation of joint research projects.

The agreement aims to broaden academic interaction between the two universities and strengthen cooperation in education, research, and scholarly exchange. Under its terms, faculty members, researchers, and students will be exchanged, and joint activities will be developed in education, research, and university management.

Conducting joint research and identifying opportunities for technological collaboration and commercialization are also key areas of the agreement, allowing faculties from both universities to pursue shared research interests. Additional areas of cooperation include exchanging academic resources, jointly organizing conferences, workshops, and symposiums, and developing shared curricula and educational programs.

Student-level cooperation is likewise addressed, including student exchange programs, short-term courses, study-abroad opportunities, library access, and fieldwork research, particularly for graduate students.

Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) is a public Indonesian university active in science, technology, the arts, and business, ranked 287th in the QS World University Rankings. Both parties emphasized principles of equality and mutual benefit in pursuing expanded academic cooperation and stronger cultural understanding between the two countries.
